The Rationale

For applied genetics and genomics research, scientist spend a lot of time planning project,
applying for funning and teaching, and may not have time to also conduct data analysis using
a variety of complex software packages. Indeed, genetics and genomics software are seldom
user friendly and require some time to learn and properly execute. Additionally, scientists in
unrelated fields of research seeking to integrate genetics/genomics into their research
seldom have the expertise or computer power to run the analysis themselves. In such cases,
scientists largely pursue collaboration with experts situated at universities and institutions,
and this process can take years to complete. Likewise, postgraduate students with heavy
field or laboratory work may need to call for reinforcements.
